Yoneya Washū

Shakuhachi & Shinobue
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Yoneya Washū joined the 37th NHK Japanese Music Skills Training Association and became an apprentice to Min'yō master shakuhachi player Yoneya Iwao. Since then, he has been active on TV, radio and on many stages. In addition to the shakuhachi, he also studied the Shinobue and Nohkan flutes and has performed overseas many times. He is active at the forefront of the Japanese music world and is also involved in various ensemble activities.
